We are your hosts, John and Diane Thomas. We live in Colorado. We have been together 13 years. We owned and operated a Bed and Breakfast in Nebraska for five years, where we found Missy, a two-year old rough sable Collie. Upon first glance, and after balking at the idea (because of her full coat), Missy became a daddy’s girl, and she was rescued! She lived with us until the approximate age of 13. We have since rescued Stormy, Jake, Cody, (all seniors at the time of rescue) and now, Rex, a six-year old Collie. We now reside out west where Rex keeps us busy and happy. Although partial to the Collie breed, all dogs have a place in our hearts.

Heartwarming stories of man, (and woman’s) best friend. Who Rescued Whom? Canine Rescue Tales is a podcast that tells the tales of both the humans and canines that found each other, and whose lives were changed, for the better, forever. The stories you’ll hear may make you laugh, some may make you cry, but whichever the case, we hope you’ll listen with your heart, and smile at the end of each one, as you learn, Who Rescued Whom?.
The idea for this podcast was born in the early days of the pandemic, 2020. With our state’s Stay at Home order, we had the idea to retrieve some 10 year old notes that we had taken, in the hopes of writing a children’s book someday, about our first Collie, Missy. (We are still working on that as well, so stay tuned.) After retrieving the notes, and being the avid podcast listeners we are, we wondered if there was a podcast of rescue stories. Finding none, we enrolled in a podcasting school. We came up with the name from a book Diane had recently been reading, but changed the title slightly. Thus, The Who Rescued Whom? Canine Rescue Tales Podcast was born. For several months, and with the help and support of friends and family, we launch these stories that we hope people will love. More importantly, we hope that these stories will inspire people, with room in their hearts and home, to rescue a dog!
